So far this holiday weekend, Austin police have arrested 49 people for driving while intoxicated.

On Saturday, police netted 25 suspected drunken drivers. Thirteen accepted breathalyzer tests. Police performed blood draws on 12 drivers.

Police said that on Friday, there were 24 DWI arrests.

The Austin Police Department is currently enforcing a No Refusal weekend, meaning that a judge will be on standby to issue blood draw warrants for any suspected drunken driver who refuses to give a blood sample.

The campaign is meant to keep the roads safe through the holidays and will last through New Year Day.
