Head-on collision kills 1 in Northeast Austin
A Monday evening crash killed one person, according to the Austin Police Department.
A police spokesperson said the head-on collision happened at highways 290 and 183 at about 6:30 p.m.
According to Austin/Travis County EMS, two people were transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge. One was later pronounced dead.
No word yet on the extent of the other patient’s injuries.
The crash was Austin’s 80th deadly accident of 2012.
