A 19-year-old man is in custody of Hays County authorities Friday after he shot a man in the 300 block of Ranch Rader Road in Wimberley.

Authorities say the suspect shot a 40-year-old man at around noon, for unknown reasons. The victim has been taken to UMC Brackenridge Hospital. Officials on the scene did not know the man’s current condition.

For a several hours, the 19-year-old barricaded himself inside of a home, but surrendered peacefully several hours later. Nearby Wimberley High School was also briefly on lock down, but has since reopened. No other injuries were reported.
