Council waives fees for water coolers around Lady Bird Lake
The Austin City Council voted Thursday to waive permit fees for the popular water coolers stationed around the hike-and-bike trail around Lady Bird Like.
In November, Austin’s health department ruled that local running companies RunTex, Rogue Running and Luke’s Locker had to stop setting up the water coolers along the trail.
Thursday’s vote waived the $310 permit fees for the companies.
Austin’s Health and Human Services Department asked that the companies firmly secure the lids before setting them up again on the trail.
