South by Southwest is still two months away, but companies and vendors are already ready to get things in order before the fest.

Austin Business Journal Editor Colin Pope said negotiations are underway for companies who want to create pop-up downtown venues during the conference. For example, every year, Max’s Wine Dive becomes the CNN Grill.

In order for that to happen, companies need to go through the city’s temporary use permitting process, and the deadline is coming up on Feb. 1.
