Motorcyclist dead after hitting light pole
A motorcyclist is dead after striking light pole in North Austin Saturday.

Austin police say a 42-year-old John Paul Lee was driving his yellow Suzuki motorcycle in the southbound lane in the 12500 block of Lamplight Village Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. Lee veered to the right, left the roadway and continued on through grassy area and a sidewalk before he entered another roadway and crossed the 2100 block of Brandywine Lane, according to officers.

It was there he crashed into a light pole and was pronounced dead on the scene.

This is Austin’s 7th traffic fatality of the year. Last year at this time, there were three traffic fatalities. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call APD’s Homicide Detectives at (512) 974-8164.
