The Texas softball team begins the season ranked 7th in the country, and picked to finish 2nd in the Big 12. The Horns have been knocking on the door the last several years. Hosting regionals, and last year a super regional, ultimately unable to break down the door and reach the college softball world series.

Media Day was held Wednesday at McCombs Field. UT's final season with ace Blaire Luna in the circle, plus slugger Taylor Hoagland returns, making the Horns primed for another deep run.
