A teenager was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison, after pleading guilty to the murder of another teenager.

Julio Cesar Castro was convicted of killing 17-year-old Mark Brandon Dominguez last January. Officials say Dominguez and two of his brothers went outside when they heard someone breaking into cars in South Austin.

That's when Dominguez was shot by Castro, also 17 years old, who was attempting to burglarize cars.

Dominguez was an aspiring firefighter and an active member Manchaca Fire Department’s “Explorers” program for troubled youth.
