Super Bowl Sunday prompts another ‘No-Refusal’ initiative by APD
APD announced Friday it will launch a ‘No Refusal’ initiative for Super Bowl Sunday.
During ‘No Refusal,’ any driver pulled over on suspicion of drunk driving must submit a breath test or get a court-ordered blood draw.
State law says anyone with a blood school concentration at or above .15 will be charged with a Class A misdemeanor, and could face up to one year and jail and $4,000 fine for first year offenders.
Last year during the Super Bowl ‘No Refusal’ initiative, officers made 17 arrests for driving while intoxicated.
The initiative will start 7:30 p.m. Sunday and continues through 5:00 a.m. Monday.
