Police seek suspect in early morning sexual assault
A woman was sexually assaulted inside her vehicle in South Austin during the early morning hours Friday, according to police.
Officers say it happened around 5:45 a.m., after the victim finished dropped off a friend and stopped her vehicle in the 6900 block of Blarwood Drive near Cockburn Drive.
It was then that the suspect approached the victim and struck up a conversation before physically and sexually assaulting her. He then fled northbound on Blarwood Drive.
A nearby resident called 911 when she heard a woman screaming.
The suspect had the following characteristics, per APD:
• Hispanic Male with dark complexion or Black Male with light complexion
• Estimated to be in his 20s
• 5’6” to 5’8” – about 180 to 190 pounds – average build
• Black, closely cut hair covered by a hood or cap
