The Souper Bowl of Caring food drive just wrapped up and now the Capital Area Food Bank is overflowing with donations.

The local food bank also received large donations from H-E-B and WalMart at the beginning of the year.

The problem they face now is a lack of help around the warehouse as volunteer efforts tend to drop off after the holidays.

Trainer and Capital Area Food Bank volunteer Rachel Brown said that the volunteer work can even provide a great workout.

“You're taking your mind off the workout and you're getting the strength training involved in that,” she said.

Volunteers can sign up for morning or afternoon time slots for more information go to AustinFoodBank.org.
