The inside of a Downtown Austin venue has transformed into a magic carpet bursting with light and sound.

The show, which is taking over the Scottish Rite Theater, is called Farfalle—the Italian word for “butterfly.”

Farfalle is not the average theater production. The show encourages participation from audience members, especially kids.

The centerpiece of the show is a magic carpet which consists of a special sensor-covered mat. It allows audience members to direct the light and sound.

"It's a show that represents our new artistic direction which is celebrating the intelligence and imagination of children," Emily Marks said.

Farfalle will run at the Scottish Rite Theater until the end of the month. Click here for more information.
