Fire marshal finds no criminal activity in Ace Hardware fire
No evidence of criminal activity was found at the site of the Ace Hardware fire in Wimberley, according to Hays County Fire Marshal Mark Chambers.

The ruling came a day after high winds forced fire crews to suspend their investigation into the fire’s cause.

Fire Marshal Chambers said due to the extensive damage caused by the blaze, the exact cause of the fire is impossible to determine.

The Wimberley landmark was ruled a total loss. Early damage estimates say about $3 million was lost in the blaze.

More than 30 full and part-time employees worked at the store, making it one of the community's largest employers.
