From dutch-oven cooking to grilling near the chuck wagon, a breakfast fit for the Wild West was served up at Auditorium Shores Friday morning in preparation for Rodeo Austin.
"This brings back some of the western heritage,” trail boss Butch Dohmann said. “We like that, you know. To see those people liking those cowboy biscuits, that's a great thing."
Whether it's the food or the entertainment, the Cowboy Breakfast attracts hundreds of people each year who are willing to wake up early and brave the cold.
"They're all out and getting their boots shined up and getting their bandanas and ready to rodeo,” Dohmann said.
The rodeo starts next Friday and will runs to March 23. For more information, visit RodeoAustin.com.
