Austin police identify man murdered Wednesday
Austin police have identified the man who was stabbed to death at a South Austin hotel on Wednesday as 22-year-old Robert Spencer Manning.
According to police, officers were called to the County Garden Inn and Suites at 3:19 a.m. for a reported stabbing.
They found two men with stab wounds in a hotel room. Both were taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge where Manning was pronounced dead. The second victim survived.
A spokesperson for the Austin Police Department said the two men were engaged in a fight with “several other subjects” when they were stabbed.
Police say the investigation into the murder is ongoing and they are asking anyone with any information to call (512) 477-3588 or CrimeStoppers at (512) 472-TIPS. Information which leads to an arrest could be eligible for a $1,000.
