One person was treated for smoke inhalation following a fire on Cherrydale Drive early Friday morning.
Fire crews responded to a report of smoke in the area of William Cannon and Manchaca just after 5 a.m.
Two people made it out of the house safety on Cherrydale Drive.
Firefighters were able to put out the flames in little more than a half hour.
"Regardless of what the report is, we’re still going to do a search of the structure,” said Lt. Josh Portie of the Austin Fire Department. “And that’s exactly what happened here – a very aggressive interior search and attack of the fire. We did a real quick secondary and third search of the structure pretty quickly. That way we know for sure as certain as we can be from our account nobody was inside."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
