Emergency officials responded to a serious crash on FM 2222 in northwest Austin at 2:40 p.m. Sunday.

STAR Flight took two critically injured people from the scene. One later died. Two more people suffered serious injuries were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.

Austin police are trying to piece together what happened. Their preliminary investigation indicates the car crossed into the oncoming lane and at least sideswiped one of the motorcycles.

“The more people that we have come forward, it just corroborates whatever the investigation leads to,” said David McDonald of the Austin Police Department. “And so that anyone who saw the accident happen, if they could come forward and give us that information, that would just help the investigators in the investigation.”

Anyone with information should call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit at (512) 974-5789.
