Punniest people in the world found in Austin
Some very punny people got together this weekend for the 24th annual O'Henry Pun-off world championship.
The punsters flexed their verbal skills, mincing and playing with words to try and get a groan out of the audience.
"It's the people ... it's the acceptance for punning, which is the lowest form of humor," said Tiffany Wimberly, punniest in the 2000. "Instead of applause, groans are what you crave. It's just
one of those things that you know you're going to be appreciated regardless of what you do."
The money from the competition helps maintain the O'Henry Museum on East Fifth street downtown.
