Flash flood watches are in effect for southern Burnet, NW Travis and Western Williamson counties until 7 p.m. and for Bastrop and eastern Caldwell counties until 7:30 p.m.

They were right: Asteroid 2012 DA14 swept safely past planet earth at 1:25pm Friday. On the same morning, another space rock did enter the earth's atmosphere, where it exploded over over Russia. Ironically, the two were not related.
