It's been nearly two weeks since nearly 12 inches of rain flooded much of the New Braunfels area.

Now many of the city's top attractions are starting to recover. Employee Haley Martin has spent a lot of time answering questions.

"A lot of people still think we're completely flooded out," she said. "Basically just asking how the river is flowing, if we're still flooded."

All of the campsites at Jerry's Rentals are back open. The owner said most of their damage didn't come from the river, but from sediment being washed down the hill.

Brandon Gaines has been camping on the Guadalupe River for years, and said this year has been as fun as ever.

"It's been great, real, real good. Kids are having a blast, what more can you ask for," he said.

Gains is staying at Jerry's Rentals, a popular tubing stop and campsite off River Road.

Other area attractions are resuming operation as the cleanup continues. Landa Park opened Monday for the first time since the flood.

Schlitterbahn, the area's largest destination, is fully operational, an important milestone for the community.

"It's extremely important for us to open, for just the well-being of everyone that uses Schlitterbahn and the amount of guests that come to New Braunfels to visit us; as part of their economy and well-being as well," Schiltterbahn Marketing Director Jeffrey Siebert said.

Businesses said now that the cleanup is coming to an end, their challenge will be getting the word out that they are open and ready for business.
