Although Veteran's Day fell on Sunday, many spent Monday honoring those who served our country.
"It's been a long time since World War Two, but there's been a lot of Vietnam, Korean and recent veterans that need to be honored," Jim Winton, a veteran of the Second World War, said.
Winton and his crew make it out to the Veteran’s Day parade each year, but this year, they have new veterans on their minds.
"With the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts going on, I think that people are more aware of what the veterans do," Vietnam War veteran Greg Brenner said. "I think things are getting better for them. I believe that there's more help for veterans now and more appreciation from people."
Military service runs deep in Vena Williams’ family.
"They're Marines, Air Force and Army,” she said. “We're so excited and proud of them."
Parade fans say the 2012 Waco Veterans Day parade was one of the biggest in years. More than 50 different schools, veteran groups and community organizations participated.
