College football coaches are teaming up with the Texas Attorney General to fight child sex abuse.

Texans will soon see new public service announcements featuring head coaches from the University of Texas, Texas A&M and the University of Houston.

Those with the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas say they're purposely working with football programs in the wake of last year's massive sex abuse scandal at Penn State.

The "One with Courage" campaign aims to shed light on the signs of child abuse as well as encourage kids to come forward if they feel abused.

Attorney General Greg Abbott says everyone must speak up to protect children.

"It encourages adults to listen when a child has the courage to come forward and talk about the abuse that child has suffered,” Abbott said. “It also encourages adults to watch for the signs of child sexual abuse and to make sure they report it to the appropriate authorities when they see those signs."

According to the advocacy centers, more than 255,000 initial reports of abuse were called in to the abuse hotline across the state last year.

That number is 1-800-252-5400.
