There were new developments to report this week, into the ongoing Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas saga. In addition to three separate investigations into the state agency, CPRIT has now put any future grants on hold at the request of the state's top three lawmakers. The House Appropriations committee echoed those sentiments, Thursday. House members asked CPRIT to stop operating as officials work to follow the paper trail.

CPRIT was one of the many topics we discussed Texas House Speaker Joe Straus. We also talked about the mental health services in the wake of the Connecticut School shooting, water, and school vouchers.

The Quorum Report's Harvey Kronberg responded to Straus' interview and the Fiscal Cliff debate in Washington.

We took a sneak peek inside the LBJ Presidential Library's renovated exhibit this week. It opens to the public on Saturday. Library Director Mark Updegrove gave us a tour.
