A familiar face returns to your living rooms Monday as Amy Hadley makers her debut as YNN’s mid-day anchor.

Amy first came to what was then News 8 Austin in 2003. One year later, she was a community favorite as our morning lives reporter. Central Texans woke up to Amy in a variety of circumstances—from cooking up barbeque and creeping around haunted houses to taking her hand at flying trapeze for her popular “Fit for Friday” segments.

Hadley also started an award-winning weekly segment, “Forever Families,” featuring area foster children available for adoption. Sixty-five percent of the children profiled in the segment were adopted. Hadley says she still keeps in touch with several families who adopted children she featured.

In 2008, Amy took time off to travel overseas with her husband Dennis. Taking on a “Why not?” philosophy, the couple lived in an 100-year-old flat in Prague, Czech Republic for two years. In their time overseas, the two went on an international adventure, exploring 13 countries and learning enough Czech to get around.

However, Amy still calls Austin home and is glad to be back in her favorite newsroom. You can catch her weekdays starting at 10 a.m.
