Two thousand athletes are slated to compete this weekend in the Special Olympics Texas Winter Games.
The games kicked off Friday with bowling events and participants couldn't wait to help their teams win.
It takes a lot of volunteers to host a full day of events. Stephanie LeRoy has been helping out since she was 15.
"We can start with an activity like bowling but it can empower them to feel confident to do other things in life. The whole deal is that I belong and that I participate,” LeRoy said.
The games will wrap up Sunday.
