The girls, ages nine and 10, told police the man approached them about 7:15 a.m. as they were walking on a trail near Quiet Water Pass and Falcon Pointe Boulevard on their way to Murchison Elementary School.

In a press release late Thursday, police said they've charged 23-year old Justin Michael Johnson with two counts of attempted kidnapping.

Police say Johnson confessed to the Wednesday incident and said he shaved his beard and stopped driving his red pickup truck after a flood of media coverage produced a deluge of tips to police.

Earlier-- Pflugerville police are looking for a man they say attempted to kidnap a girl on a trail near Quiet Water Pass and Falcon Pointe Boulevard on her way to Murchison Elementary School Wednesday morning.

One girl said the man grabbed her shoulder and put his hand over her mouth when she screamed. That girl broke free and she and another girl ran to the school where they told staff members what happened.

Police said the man may have left the scene in a red truck with an extended cab and rust spots on the side. Earlier this month, there were suspicious activity reports in the area that also involved a red truck.

Reports as far back as December show a suspicious man approaching young girls in the east part of Pflugerville. The man's description is the same or similar in each case.

"Call in any information that is suspicious and let us investigate it because that one time you think it is not suspicious, it may be the one time someone's there and we could have caught them. Any information is good,” Lt. Laura Wilkes with the Pflugerville Police Department said. “Children do need to be aware to watch. I urge parents to share this information with their kids. The vehicle information and teach them how to observe and watch their surroundings and gather that information and go on.”

Police are looking for a slender man, with red or brown facial hair, a goatee or beard. He's around five-feet, eight-inches and may have blue eyes.

They believe he left the area in a red pickup truck with an extended cab and rust spots on the side.
